Special Installation Instructions

The factory default for the Motorola 2860 modem is Bell 208b Modem (4,800 Baud) with autodialing DISABLED.  If you wish to take advantage of either the FastSync® 3780 or CLEO 3780Plus® AutoDial software capabilities, you must program the modem to enable the Sync Dialer.  Start by reading your 2860 Modem User Manual - read Pages 3-1 through 3-4.  The change you need to make is described on Page 3-2, Section "Operating Mode Selection."  After you get into the menu selections, you need to select "PSTN with sync dial."  After this programming change the LCD Menu Window will display the following text:

DATA IDLE MODE
SYNC DIALER
